Fixed-term employment

A fixed-term employee gets the same hours, wages and benefits as a permanent employee doing the same work, and gratuity in proportion to service.

Fixed-term employment is a contract for a fixed period, made directly by the employer without a contractor.

  • Hours, wages, allowances and other benefits are not less than those of a permanent worker doing the same or similar work.
  • The employee is eligible for all statutory benefits in proportion to the period of service.
  • Gratuity is payable pro rata, without the five-year condition (s. 53 of the SS Code).
  • The end of a fixed-term contract by its terms is not retrenchment, so no retrenchment compensation is due.

Use the appointment letter in the HR desk with the employment type "Fixed term".
